WHO AND HOW WE SERVE

We serve young people who demonstrate exceptional grit, resilience, and determination, yet face significant barriers to achieving their full potential. These barriers often stem from external circumstances, including but not limited to poverty, family stress, the illness of a parent or guardian, neighborhood violence, or underperforming schools. Our scholars have the drive to succeed; we provide the access and opportunity they need to realize their dreams.

All Hope Ignites Scholars participate in quality holistic programming. Whether they live on-site or stay after school, they learn and grow together on our campus.

Life Preparedness

In addition to their academics, all Scholars learn basic skills they need to live happy, productive lives, such as financial literacy, communication skills, household chores, planning for the future, and more.

Personal Development

Our programming includes social and emotional awareness coupled with physical activities that promote all-around health and well-being. Scholars are encouraged to explore their own spirituality as a critical part of living a healthy, well-adjusted life and participate in extracurricular activities that feed their purpose and passion.

Leadership & Service

Scholars are taught to become people for others—to live with purpose and give back to those in need. This is reinforced through community service, dialogue about important global and local issues, and their development as a changemaker and of their passions for social justice in their family and community.

College & Career Readiness

Our career preparation and leadership programming helps Scholars identify their strengths, talents, and career interests. Through mentoring, setting goals, job and internship assitance, we help them succeed and remain a network of support for our Alumni after they’ve completed the program.

Long-Term

Scholars begin their journey with us in middle school and stay with us through high school, college, and career launch. Whether in our Academy or Residential pathway, Scholars move along together as we leverage their talents, strengths, and passions into an individual plan that helps them reach their full potential.

Empowered Learning

Scholars receive ongoing academic support, such as tutoring, college preparatory coaching, and for some, academic scholarship, affording them an opportunity of a first-class education at one of our partner schools.

TWO PATHWAYS, ONE GOAL

ACADEMY

Beginning in 6th grade, our Academy pathway offers 7 years of year-round enrichment opportunities in academics, social-emotional wellness, and leadership development.

Our Academy Program is an ‘out–of–school–time’ program which begins the summer before 6th grade and spans through high school graduation. Students, our Scholars, come to our Campus of Hope year–round to participate in enrichment opportunities focused on character, hands–on academic learning, social–emotional wellness, the arts, leadership development, and career and life readiness.

RESIDENTIAL

Our hallmark Residential Program provides safe, nurturing, family-like homes for up to 18 Scholars. Our ‘home-away-from-home’ environment, coupled with an outstanding education, provides the support needed for Scholars to achieve their full potential. All Hope Ignites Residential Scholars also participate in our out-of-school time Academy Program on a weekly basis.

Scholarship

Residential Scholars earn full tuition scholarships to a rigorous middle or high school. Current partner schools include, but are not limited to, St. Edward High School, Saint Joseph Academy, and Gilmour Academy.

Campus Living

Residential Scholars live on our Campus of Hope through the week (typically Sunday evening through Friday), enjoy home–cooked meals, and receive transportation to and from school and other activities.

Opportunities

Residential Scholars are provided opportunities for mentoring, academic enrichment and support, wellness, community-building, and individualized college and career planning.

POST SECONDARY

Upon graduation from high school, Hope Ignites continues supporting both Academy and Residential Scholars through personalized mentorship and guidance during their post-secondary years and into the launch of their career. Depending on each Scholar’s goals, they enter this program as a “Collegian” (pursing a 4-year degree) or “Fellow” (pursing a 2-year degree, certification, internship, or other pre-professional training).

1:1 Coaching

Each post–secondary Scholar is matched with a trained College & Career Success Coach dedicated to their career launch. Scholars and their coach communicate monthly for individualized case management, which includes checking in on academic goals and personal wellbeing along with discussing how to navigate potential barriers.

Programming & Networking

Programming sessions and networking opportunities address critical skills, such as independent living, interview and job seeking skills, financial literacy, mental health and wellness, and more. In addition, our professional networking initiative, HopeNet, brings together corporate partners and local professionals for events designed to build connections and support Scholars as they join the emerging workforce.

Scholarships

Throughout their engagement in programming, Scholars accrue funds in individual ‘Success Funds’ that can be accessed during their post-secondary education. This can then be applied towards critical education and basic needs expenses.
