“With the help of Hope Ignites, I was provided many opportunities to be involved in service activities, leading me to a career in social work, and I am thankful that Hope Ignites led me there.”
LaTonya entered Hope Ignites in the 8th grade and attended Urban Community School. In 2011, she graduated from Walsh Jesuit High School, where she ran track and was involved in Community Service. Upon graduation, LaTonya attended the University of Akron where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development in 2016.
Soon after graduation, she started her work at the Child Care Center as a Lead Toddler Teacher for two years before she decided to return to the University of Akron to work towards her Master’s in Social Work. Currently, LaTonya works as an Instructional Aid for a local high school, and after receiving her Master’s Degree, she plans to continue to help the youth in Cleveland.
